Jana Bouskova has to her credit some truly remarkable artistic triumphs, a record which has turned her to a much sought-after harpist and a regular guest of the world´s foremost concert platforms, appearing both as a soloist and as the partner of the likes of Mstislav Rostropovich, Yuri Bashmet, Patrick Gallois, Maxim Vengerov, Janne Thomsen, Sharon Kam, Christian Tetzlaff, Gustav Rivinius Jiri Barta and others.

Jana Bouskova studied at the Prague Conservatory and, subsequently, in the class of Professor Libuse Vachalova at Ostrava University. She has accumulated many major competition achievements, including awards from the world´s two most prestigious harp contests: in 1992, gold medal at the International Harp Competition (U. Torneo Internazionale di Musica, Rome-Italy (1999), Laureate of the International Music Festival “Juventus”- France (1998) and holder of the 1999 Harpa Award of Switzerland, for her exceptional achievement as a concert artist and her outstanding contribution to the advancement of the art of harp interpretation.

As a soloist, she works with a number of orchestras, including the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, the Prague Philharmonia, the Chicago Sinfonietta, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the MDR Symphonieorchester Leipzig, and the Tokyo Chamber Orchestra; and with conductors Gerd Albrecht, Christian Arming, Jiri Belohlavek, Petr Altrichter and many others.

She has taken part in a long list of international harp congresses and symposia, and receives numerous invitations to teach at master classes. In 2004 she was a member of the Jury at the USA International Harp Compeitition. Since 1993 she is a professor of the Prague Conservatory. She was also made artistic director of the 7th World Harp Congress in 1999. Her other commitments include membership of the Artistic Directorate of Prague´s Academy of Music. In 2002, she has accepted an invitation to teach for two months at Indiana University in the U. S. A. Most receintly, she won an audition to become the principal harpist of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra.
